Viking Challenge 2012

The 2011 Challenge was very exciting with two new champions in Men's and Women’s A Division. It also saw the introduction of a men’s over 35 competition which was well received.

The 2012 competition will run over the weekend of
the 10th and 11th of March.

Entries will close on Friday the 17th of February.
Entry fee will be $450

Entries now open

• Yes, the over 35’s will be back for the men.

• Yes, the ladies will have a new division for over 30’s (this will depend on the number of entries).

• Huge news: we now have a Facebook page which we will use to provide lots of information for you and you can also post comments.

Changes to the Format:

Due to the huge number of entries, over the last couple of years Sunday has been going too long for most of you, and us.

The format for A and B divisions was changed some years ago to give you more games. This year we will go back to the old system whereby your first match in all divisions will be knockout.

When we get down to the last four teams in each division, the winners will progress to the Final and the losers will make up the Consolation Final.

This will shorten the day and bring the finals back to a reasonable time and allow everyone to get home at a reasonable time. Hopefully it will also mean more of you can stay and watch the finals.

Everything else remains the same, you still need:

• Clearance to play from your home Zone / Association, not your Club!

• A numbered matching strip

• Your own match ball

• Sunscreen

Entry numbers will be limited so PLEASE get your entries in early.
